C.J. Arthur's Bar and Grill Owner Remembered
Owner Art Falzer, who died in late Jan., is remembered as a friendly, talkative man with a passion for his business.
C.J. Arthur's Bar and Grill, a Wilmette mainstay that closed its doors in September, was, for many, the best place in town to see live music, be with friends and relax — which was exactly how Art Falzer had it pictured.
Falzer, 65, died on Jan. 31 after battling ALS for more than a year, according to an article by the Chicago Tribune. Falzer opened the restaurant after the birth of his and wife Cindy Falzer's son, Jason — and the name of the restaurant was a combination of their three names.
"He incorporated his love of the restaurant business and his love for his family," Jason told the Tribune about his father. "He loved it because he got to see us all of the time.
A private memorial service for Falzer is scheduled for Saturday.
