Evil Twin Blamed for Wrongdoing, Toilet Stolen

A look at unusual crimes in our Patch region.

 

Local police departments provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.

The old evil twin defense

A woman in Skokie accused her coworker of stealing $580 from her bank account. However, the 18-year-old coworker told police he didn’t take the money. He said his identical twin brother had.

Suspect armed to the teeth?

Highland Park Police are investigating the theft of two dental articulators, used for fabrication and testing of dental prostheses. 

Crime stinks

A portable toilet was stolen from a Morton Grove Park.

APB for an incredibly jittery subject

A clerk in a Niles store told police that he recognized a man as the same person who had left the store a week earlier without paying for 41 bottles of 5 Hour Energy drink, valued at $231.89.

It’s a dog eat dog world

A Wilmette woman reported that her dog was bitten by another dog. The other dog’s owner would not exchange information and left the area.

The least surprising crime of the week

A Glencoe resident reported that someone took his bike, which had been left unlocked on a bike rack, sometime over a 15-day period in April.
