“Seekers of Refuge: The Amazon’s Hidden Peoples"

- Why Go?: Alaka Wali, Curator at the Field Museum of Natural History,
will discuss “Seekers of Refuge: The Amazon’s Hidden Peoples." Dr. Wali is the author of two books, several monographs, and over 30 articles, and she currently serves on the editorial board of the American Anthropologist, flagship journal of the American Anthropological Association. - Pricing: Free
Sundance Film screens in Skokie to benefit Wilmette based nonprofit
- When: Thursday, April 19, 2012, 6:00 pm
- Where: North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie (NSCPAS), 9501 Skokie Blvd, Skokie
- Why Go?: Adaptive Adventures, a Wilmette-based nonprofit, providing distinctive outdoor adventures to people with physical disabilities, will host the Chicago premiere of The Movement, narrated by Robert Redford and ski legend Warren Miller. The film screened at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2012 to critical acclaim.

Unscripted Romance: an improvised musical at Wilmette Theatre
- When: Thursday, April 19, 2012, 7:30 pm
- Where: Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave, Wilmette
- Why Go?: Follow the humor, heartache, highs, lows and everything in between as this modern-day couple incorporates the real-life relationships of its audience members into a two-act story that follows the trajectory of a (mostly) typical relationship. Like all relationships, this one is unscripted.
