The group, moderated by Deerfield resident Don Levinthal, covers all points on the political spectrum. Newcomers are always welcome.

“Seekers of Refuge: The Amazon’s Hidden Peoples"

  • Why Go?: Alaka Wali, Curator at the Field Museum of Natural History,
    will discuss “Seekers of Refuge: The Amazon’s Hidden Peoples." Dr. Wali is the author of two books, several monographs, and over 30 articles, and she currently serves on the editorial board of the American Anthropologist, flagship journal of the American Anthropological Association.

Unscripted Romance: an improvised musical at Wilmette Theatre

  • When: Thursday, April 19, 2012, 7:30 pm
  • Where: Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave, Wilmette
  • Why Go?: Follow the humor, heartache, highs, lows and everything in between as this modern-day couple incorporates the real-life relationships of its audience members into a two-act story that follows the trajectory of a (mostly) typical relationship. Like all relationships, this one is unscripted.
