Traditional Karate Center Community Day Open House

• Why Go?: In order to help the public better understand the benefits of karate training, Traditional Karate Center will hold a public event to showcase a more authentic picture of the discipline so that people may gain a clearer understanding of what it is and what it is not. A number of demonstrations will take place among students at a variety of karate ranks and there will be opportunities to talk to instructors as well as students to better understand the art. In addition, there will be traditional Japanese foods available to sample along with games and prizes. The event will be casual and fun. Walking Tour: A Stroll Through Time (Linden Square)

• Where: Wilmette Historical Museum, 609 Ridge Rd, Wilmette
• Why Go?: The Wilmette Historical Museum is offering a stroller tour this fall, giving families with younger children the opportunity to learn about the history of Linden Square in Wilmette. Goodie bags with crayons will be provided for young children. Although the tour is designed for parents with children in strollers, everyone is welcome. The tour is free but reservations are required by phoning the Museum at (847) 853-7666. The meeting location will be given upon registration.
