ATC's The Secret Garden teams up with Flowers For Dreams

• Where: Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave, Wilmette
• Why Go?: The Wilmette Theatre's ATC Teen Repertory Company's production of The Secret Garden partners with Flowers For Dreams, a flower organization that gives a backpack filled with school supplies to a Chicago Public Schools student for each purchase.

Celebration of 100th Anniversary of Linden "L"

• When: Saturday, April 28, 2012, 11:00 am
• Where: 349 Linden Ave, Wilmette
• Why Go?: The "L" arrived in Wilmette under cover of darkness on April Fool's Day, 1912. Originally opposed by Village officials, the new train service quickly became popular with commuters and the anchor for a new business district at 4th and Linden. Christopher S. Canning, Wilmette Village President, and CTA officials will kick-off this celebration at 11:00 a.m.  Following their brief comments, guests will have the rare opportunity to tour two historic 1923 "L" cars. The Wilmette Community Band will provide Dixieland music.
