New Trier Student’s YouTube Video Earns 700,000 Hits
The Wilmette teen filmed his grandfather mocking his taste in music.
Dubstep artist Skrillex might have a Grammy nomination, but 90-year-old Al Zamansky doesn’t care for his music. That might not seem like a big surprise, but a video of him voicing his distaste has become a YouTube sensation, according to The Winnetka Current.
The publication reports that Wilmette resident Jordan Zamansky decided to play one of the electronic music producer’s songs for his grandpa and record his reactions. The New Trier sophomore uploaded the results to YouTube in November. It racked up more than 600,000 hits in a month, enjoying a spike in popularity from Skrillex’s Grammy nod. It currently has more than 706,000 views.
While Jordan had to explain to his Grandpa Al what YouTube is, he told The Winnetka Current that he was flattered that the footage of him has become so popular.
