New Trier Teachers' Contract Negotiations to Continue Through Summer

Current contracts expire on the last day of Summer vacation.

New Trier teachers' contract negotiations are still underway, according to the Wilmette Life.

District 203 Officials and the New Trier Township Education Society have been discussing the agreements since late January. The prevoius four-year contracts expire on August 21, the last day of Summer vacation.

* Private sector worker pay raises, from Aon Hewitt…

Average raise last year for Chicago workers: 2.6%

Average raise last year for U.S. workers: 2.4%

Average raise for Chicago workers this year: 2.8%*

Average raise for U.S. workers this year: 2.9%*

CPS teachers expected raise this year: 4% (rejected by school board)

What kind of raise do these teachers want? 2% should be sufficient and that would include the step increase!
