North Shore Artists Invited to Compete in Art by the Inch

A Wilmette resident is taking part in the the community art competition hosted by Northbrook-based Art Post Gallery.

Wilmette resident Lindsay Brown, who has a doctorate in horticulture, says the first community art competition hosted by Northbrook-based Art Post Gallery is perfect for him because the theme is “Botany Magnified,” Chicago Tribune reported.

The gallery is making 80 canvases available for artist to create work on any medium. All entries must be submitted by April 11 and will be displayed at Art Post Gallery’s Spring Show starting April 18

A panel of three judges will award $200 to each of the top three canvases, and all canvases will be for sale at a fixed price of $150 with all proceeds going to the artist

Brown says he typically paints two or three days a week at the North Shore Senior Center and only started painting after he retired, Chicago Tribune reported.
