The following is a submission from Avoca School District 37:
Award-winning children’s author Jordan Sonnenblick recently spent an afternoon visiting with the students at Marie Murphy School in Wilmette. During his visit, he led a writer’s workshop for 35 students as well as two group presentations: One for fifth and sixth graders and the other for seventh and eighth graders.
Some of Mr. Sonnenblick’s popular books include “Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie,” “Notes from the Midnight Driver,” “After Ever After” and “Zen and the Art of Faking it.”
"I am so grateful to the Avoca Parents’ and Teachers’ Council for sponsoring this incredible opportunity for our students," said Marie Murphy School Library/Media Director Carrie Stotz, "Jordan Sonnenblick is one of their favorite authors and mine!"
