After serving the Wilmette Coast Guard for nearly two decades, Chief Joel F. Pribek officially passed the torch Friday. During the Change of Command ceremony, Pribek offered a heartfelt speech that reflected on his career.

Pribek thanked the peers and loved ones who supported his career before officially handing the reigns over to Chief Robert F. DeVoy.

DeVoy spoke with humor and enthusiasm, as well as reverence for his predecessor.

"I'd like to thank you for your dedication to this community and the unit. I look forward to continuing the incredible work that's being conducted at the station," DeVoy said.
