About two dozen South Central Wilmette residents warmed up for their turkey dinners with a Thanksgiving Day two-hand touch football game at Howard Park. George Rafeedie organized the friendly competition to relive his fond childhood memories of playing in Turkey Bowls in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio.
The game featured a mix of McKenzie Elementary School students ages 3 to 10 and their parents. It culminated in a tie score of 35-35.
