Police Blotter: Identity Theft, Caller Impersonates Relative in Need

Identity Theft

A resident in the 300 block of Woodstock Avenue reported that the IRS informed him a fraudulent tax return had been filed using his personal information.

Deceptive Practice

A resident in the 400 block of Warwick Road reported receiving a telephone call April 12 from a male claiming to be a relative in need of help. The caller hung up the call when asked more questions.

Lost or Stolen Property

A resident in the 300 block of Abbotsford Road reported April 13 that some property was either lost or stolen during a move from Kenilworth in June 2011. The property and their estimated values were not provided.

Driving Incident

Arturo Salgado, 33, 1445 Morse Ave., Apt. 2 E, Chicago, was charged April 11 with driving without a valid drivers license after a traffic stop. He was issued a May 25 court date in Skokie.
