A look at unusual crimes in our Patch region this week
Local police departments provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.
Someone put foaming detergent in a water fountain at the Northbrook Village Green.
An upright vacuum was stolen from the front yard of a Glencoe home.
A AAA card and State Farm proof of insurance documents were stolen from an unlocked garage in Evanston
Enchanted frog and magical bear held for questioning
Someone stole seven garden gnomes from the front lawn of a home in Morton Grove.
Two men stole two toilet flush valves from the restroom of an Evanston restaurant.
World's tiniest burglar establishes route onto premises
Someone burnt a two-inch hole through a screen door in Skokie.
Police said a truck was reported stolen from the Metals USA parking lot in Northbrook. The truck was carrying about 26,000 pounds of steel beams, valued at $20,000.
This was after 'no cuts' had been officially called
Two men got in a physical altercation in a Skokie grocery store after one accused the other of cutting in the checkout line.
