Wilmette Police Blotter: $3,700 in Jewelry Stolen from Gym Locker Room
The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Someone stole a $1,700 watch and over $2,000 worth of jewelry from the locker room of an athletic club located in the 900 block of Michigan Avenue. The victim told police that she had left the items inside her gym bag, which she left unsecured in the locker room while she swam. The stolen items included a set of Ippolita earrings, one Ippolita necklace and an Ebel women’s watch.
An unknown offender fired air-gun pellets (BBs) through three storefront windows of a business located in the 200 block of Green Bay Road at approximately 2 p.m. on Dec. 6. Officer reported that the business’s windows were punctured, but not shattered, by a small, circular object, though no pellets were recovered from the scene. The business’s owner told police that several other pellet holes have been in the windows for a long time.
The owner of a Wilmette business located in the 200 block of Green Bay Road told police on Dec. 6 that someone had fired air-gun pellets through three of his storefront windows.
Four lug nut covers valued at a combined $800 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a lot in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue sometime between 3 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. on Dec. 13.
A package containing nine nylon dopp kits, valued at a combined $60, was reported stolen by a woman living in the 1500 block of Highland Avenue on Dec. 12. The woman told police that online tracking for the package reported it had already arrived, but the woman said she never received the items.
On Dec. 13, a Wilmette woman told police that over $1,000 in fraudulent online purchases had been made on her mother’s bank account. The woman said she discovered two strange purchases on the account: one for a $509 Apple iPad and the other for a $523 item. The woman told police she suspected her daughter may have made the purchases “due to similar prior incidents”.
Phone Call Harassment
A Wilmette woman told police on Dec. 13 that her sister had left four phone messages, in which her sister threatened to kill and stab her.
A Wilmette resident living in the 900 block of 11th Street called police on Dec. 7 after allegedly being threatened by a contractor whom the homeowner fired.
