Wilmette Police Blotter: $5,000 Worth of Silverware Stolen, Jewelry Theft

A box containing silverware valued at $5,000 was reported stolen between March 9 and May 9 from a house in the 600 block of Knox Avenue. The box contained 12 pieces of forks and spoons.
Lynn Pudles, 60, 2230 Central St., Evanston, was arrested May 12 for retail theft after she tried to return seven stolen items totaling $139 for store credit at Bed, Bath & Beyond, 3232 Lake Ave. She was later released and issued a June 7 court date in Skokie.
A resident in the 130 block of Hibbard Road reported three large candlesticks valued at $70 were taken from her backyard patio area on May 13.
Several jewelry items valued at $1,000 were stolen from an unlocked home in the 1400 block of Forest Avenue on May 9.
Someone broke the front window and stole lottery tickets from BP Amoco Gas Station, 901 Green Bay Rd., on May 12. The incident was captured on the store’s video camera.
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Fabian Hernandez, 40, 7127 W. Estes Ave., Chicago, was arrested May 13 for driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Hernandez refused to submit to chemical testing.
Graffiti at Metra Station
The west and east parking card dispensers at the Metra Tran Station, 722 Green Bay Rd., had anarchy symbols etched in it between May 9 and 11. The cost to repaint the dispensers is estimated at $50.
Pilar Ayala, 50, 6229 N. Fairfield Ave., Chicago, was arrested for driving without a driver’s license on May 11. She was processed and later released.
