Repeat DUI, Fraud, Theft
The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Driving Under the Influence
Thomas M. Jacobus, 59, of Evanston is being charged with felony charges of driving under the influence, according to Wilmette Police reports. Jacobus was stopped at I-94 and Old Orchard Rd. on Jan. 5 for a traffic offense and was arrested for driving under the influence. Felony charges were approved because he had three previous DUIs.
Burglary to Garage
A victim on the 1000 block of Elmwood reported that a bicycle was removed from his unlocked garage overnight, according to Wilmette Police reports.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Elizabeth Ripes, 47, Lucy Ripes, 29 and one 16 year old juvenile, all of Wilmette, are being charged after officers executed a search warrant on a home in the 700 block of Laporte, according to the Wilmette Police Department. The police report states that officers found ½ pound of cannabis, control substances and drug paraphernalia.
According to the police report, Elizabeth Ripes is being charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to delinquency of a minor. Lucy Ripes is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. The 16-year-old juvenile is being charged with delivery of cannabis, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to Wilmette Police reports, a subject performed a return scam at the Walgreens located at 811 Green Bay Rd. The report states that a fraudulent receipt was used to return an item. The scam was discovered after the subject had left the store.
A theft was reported at the Wilmette Public Library, according to Wilmette Police reports. A woman stated that she had completed work at the Wilmette Library, but had left her flash drive in the computer. She called the library when she realized that her flash drive was left at the library, but the flash drive was never located.
Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor
Brendan Dolan, 19 of Wilmette is being charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor, according to Wilmette Police reports. The report states that officers responded to the 300 block of Linden for a fare dispute with a cab. Dolan was found to be intoxicated. He paid his cab for and was written a ticket.
Burglary to Auto
A resident on the 700 block of Laurel reported that an unknown offender(s) entered her unsecured garage door and then her unsecured vehicle, taking an iPod and change, according to Wilmette Police reports.
Officers responded to an auto burglary at 3000 Glenview Rd. The offender broke out the passenger side front window and removed a purse and keys, which were visible on the front seat of the auto, according to Wilmette Police reports.
A resident of the 500 block of Lavergne reported that he has been receiving threatening phone calls from a subject known to him, according to Wilmette Police reports.
A resident on the 300 block of Ridge reported that while on vacation, an unknown person(s) entered his apartments and removed various items, including ammo and a clip to a gun, according to Wilmette Police reports. Entry appears to be through an unlocked kitchen window. The victim suspects “unsavory characters” that live in the complex.
Two unknown male subjects entered a residence on the 2600 block of Marion Lane through an unlocked rear door, according to Wilmette Police reports. A female resident asleep on the first floor heard two voices and woke up her husband. He observed a male subject exiting the rear door. A search of the area produced negative results.
