The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada honored the village for its budget work.
The Village of Wilmette has been honored with an award for work on its budget, according to a press release.
This is the 14th consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has presented Wilmette with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
In order to receive the award, Wilmette had to satisfy guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operation guide and a communications device.
The award reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting, the release said.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a non-profit professional association that serves some 17,400 government finance professionals throughout North America.
