The festival will also have a new kids stage and classic car show. The music and beer garden will open until 10 p.m. on July 14.
Are you ready for summer? Wilmette will host its second annual Summerfest on July 13 and 14 in the Village Center.
The festival will feature art fair, food vendors, two live entertainment stages and an expanded beer garden. About 100 businesses are expected to take part in the sidewalk sale, according to village documents.
Summerfest will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to dusk on Saturday.
New additions this year include a kids’ stage and a classic car show. The music and beer gardens will be open on Saturday and have been extended to 10 p.m.
"We're very excited to have a new Kids Stage at the Fest this summer and we'll be featuring lots of local talent,” said Nili Yelin, who will be hosting the Kids Stage at the festival.
Local kid musicians from North Shore Guitar Academy and the Rock House, along with performers from the Actors Training Center and Studio North Academy of the Performing Arts will be showing off their talents on stage from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
“We’re excited to add a classic car show to Summerfest this year,” said Nada Becker, executive director, Wilmette Chamber of Commerce.
Classic cars will be on display on Saturday. Anyone interested in displaying can contact Greg Alvarado at 312-543-7502 or Greg@Agentech.net
