Battery at Highcrest School

The following information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary to Garage

Officers responded to a home on the 1500 block of Highland Ave. for a burglary to a garage, which occurred between March 27 and 28. The garage was locked but there was a gap by the lock to the service door, allowing access to the lock. An unknown offender(s) removed two bikes. 

Fraud

A resident on the 3000 block of Indianwood Ave. reported that an unknown offender(s) attempted to make purchases using her Citi Bank Master Card and Chase Bank Visa credit card in other states on March 18 and March 19. Both cards were cancelled and no transactions were approved. 

Death Investigation

Police are investigating the death of a 35 year old female resident on the 700 block of Park Ave. She was found hung in the family room by her husband, police reports state. Her body was transported to the morgue for an autopsy. 

Theft

A victim on the 500 block of Central Ave. reported that a package delivered to her house by the USPS was removed from between the screen door and the front door of her residence between March 26 and March 29, police state. 

Public Fall

A Wilmette resident out for a walk near the 2800 block of Glenview Rd. tripped and fell on a raised sidewalk edge, police reports state. The resident refused treatment. Public Works responded and placed a barricade around the section until repairs can be made.

Battery/Robbery

The parents of a 14-year-old male juvenile reported that their son was punched in the face while meeting three subjects behind Highcrest School at 569 Hunter Rd. on March 30, Wilmette Police reports state. After being punched in the face, the offenders took a backpack containing alcohol and cannabis. 

Identity Theft

A victim on the 2300 block of Kenilworth Ave. reported on March 26 that he was unable to file his income tax return with the IRS because an unknown individual had already filed a return using the victim's social security number, police reports state. 

Criminal Damage

A resident on the 400 block of Lavernge Ave. reported that sometime between March 31 and April 1, someone had punctured two tires on his vehicle, police reports state.
