2012 The Lisa Show Art Exhibition
Chicago-based founders of The Great Frame Up, David and Marlowe Klitzky, announced today that winners of the “2012 The Lisa Show” Student Art Program will be announced on Saturday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the “Best of the Best” Exhibition at The Thompson Center, Chicago, featuring top high school student art pieces. The student artwork will then be on display at the Thompson Center, 100 East Randolph, Chicago, May 14-17. The exhibit is open to the public.
The art exhibit features the top-winning student pieces from 21 different Chicagoland high schools – more than 100 pieces will be on display. The artwork includes five categories: painting, drawing, three-dimensional, photography, and graphic communication. The students compete for higher learning scholarships sponsored by the Klitzky’s and Mesirow Financial. “Every year, we hope that showcasing this wonderful framed art will inspire more young students to move towards the arts, said founder, David Klitzky. “These art exhibits help keep funding alive for high school art departments in this tough economic time. I personally really enjoy meeting all 525 art students and discussing their work with respect to the medium they used, their techniques, color pallet, and their future goals. It’s refreshing to hear what inspires them to create such stunning pieces of art.”
Richard Mesirow from Mesirow Financial will announce the scholarship winners at the May 12 event. Mesirow Financial Investment Managers throughout the community attended the local art exhibits that included participating high schools Buffalo Grove, Chicago Public Schools Gallery 37 Advanced Arts Education Program, Deerfield, Evanston Township, Glenbrook North, Hersey, Highland Park, Jones College Prep, Lake Forest, Lakeview, Lake Zurich, The Latin School, Libertyville, Lincoln Park, New Trier, Niles North, Niles West, Maine West, Palatine, Palatine Special Needs, Stevenson and Vernon Hills.
