The Wilmette Fire Department will host an Every Day Heroes Fire Fighter Blood Donor Challenge Blood Drive from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 8 during the department's Open House at its main station, 1304 Lake Ave.

To schedule your appointment, please contact Lifesource at 877-543-3768 or schedule online at www.lifesource.org. Walk-ins are welcome, too!! All donors will receive a free Tshirt.

If you can't make it on the 8th, please go to any LifeSource Blood Center and give the following code (132D) so Wilmette FD will still get credit for your donation.

Why is it important that Wilmette FD get credit for your donation?

Because LifeSource now makes monetary donations to support the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Scholarship Program for firefighter education, based on the volume of blood donated at fire department blood drives. Wilmette firefighters apply for these scholarships for continuing education.
