GREAT AGE DAYTIME PROGRAMS PRESENTSOLD-TIME RADIO & THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK Those Were the Days host/producer Steve Darnall talks about how radio helped to create the “Great American Songbook” by offering songs and singers an unprecedented opportunity to present their songs to a national audience. You’ll hear from some of the 20th century’s leading songwriters as they were heard on radio…including words and music from Johnny Mercer, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and a rare 1934 performance from George Gershwin.
