 SV)\, an organization that supports older adults in their desire to &ldq
 uo\;age in place&rdquo\; in their own homes\, is hosting &ldquo\;Make Th
 e Connection\,&rdquo\; a resource fair for older adults and their famili
 es. Unlike similar events\, &ldquo\;Make The Connection&rdquo\; will sho
 wcase local businesses and resources that have been recommended by many 
 of North Shore Village&rsquo\;s 250-plus members. The fair will take pla
 ce Saturday\, November 17\, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Shore Re
 tirement Hotel\, 1611 Chicago Avenue\, Evanston.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&
 nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; NSV recently lau
 nched Community Connections\, an online listing of member-recommended bu
 sinesses that have shown a particular sensitivity to the needs of older 
 adults. The goal of Community Connections is to deepen the relationships
  between those local businesses and the community. Many of those busines
 ses will be taking part in &ldquo\;Make The Connection.&rdquo\; Service 
 organizations focused on the needs of older adults are also expected to 
 take part.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbs
 p\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; &ldquo\;We are fortunate to live in an area where ther
 e are many products and services for the independent-minded older adult 
 to draw upon. But finding them can be a challenge. Our goal is to connec
 t older adults and their families with these resources\,&rdquo\; says He
 len Gagel\, executive director of North Shore Village.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&n
 bsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Formed nea
 rly four years ago\, North Shore Village is a member-driven\, nonprofit 
 organization that now has more than 250 members in Evanston\, Wilmette a
 nd Skokie. Originally conceived as an organization for adults 60 and old
 er\, NSV recently extended limited Affiliate memberships to family membe
 rs of older adults. \n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&
 nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; &ldquo\;We have found that adult children ar
 e very concerned about helping their parents through the aging process. 
 They are hungry for information and support. With our experience and res
 ources\, we can provide both\,&rdquo\; Gagel says.\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\

 illage\nNorth Shore Village (NSV) is part of a growing national movement
  to enable older citizens to &ldquo\;age in community&rdquo\; with frien
 ds and neighbors\, linking village members to services and support that 
 help them stay in their own homes and live the best and fullest lives po
 ssible. Membership is open to adults age 50 and over in Evanston\, Wilme
 tte\, Skokie and adjacent communities. North Shore Village has more than
  250 members. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors and has 1
