The Wilmette Historical Museum is offering a walking tour of Wilmette's Gillson Park on Saturday, July 14, at 9:30 a.m. The tour will be led by Terry Porter, retired Director of the Wilmette Park District and chair of the Lakefront Commission, and Kathy Hussey-Arntson, Museum Director. Learn about the history of Gillson Park and Wilmette Harbor, and the impact of Depression-era projects on the shoreline.
The walking tour is free for Museum members and $5 for non-Museum members. Reservations are required by calling (847) 853-7666 or emailing museum@wilmette.com. Meeting location will be given upon registration.

More About Gillson Park
The pride of Wilmette parks, Gillson Park is located on a huge beachfront area. Gillson Park offers a dog beach, a swimming area, sailboat rentals, lighted tennis courts and ice rink, a fitness course, picnic tables and grills.
