Am Yisrael Plans Musical Shabbat with Nava Tehila Ensemble from Jerusalem on May 24

Nava Tehila, an emerging prayer and study community in Jerusalem, will visit and lead Shabbat services at Am Yisrael in Northfield on Saturday, May 24.  Nava Tehila's prayer and song have been a source of inspiration to Am Yisrael's Rabbi Debra Newman Kamin and Cantor Stuart Simon for some time.  During the past two years, Am Yisrael has developed and incorporated contemporary musical selections from Nava Tehila to enhance its joyful Shabbat services.  Am Yisrael welcomes Nava Tehila for a second visit to help honor its Grandparents Circle and those who have donated bricks for the front garden.   This promises to be a unique and unforgettable musical and spiritual experience.      Shabbat services begin at 9:30 am and kiddush lunch will follow.  There is no charge for Saturday's festivities, but reservations are kindly requested by Friday, May 16.  RSVP to Nancy Holab Nevins at Am Yisrael, 4 Happ Road, Northfield, IL 60093.  For questions, call 847-446-7215 or email nhnevins@amyisrael.org.   Photo Caption:   Nava Tehila members (from left, foreground) Ilan Glazer, Daphna Rosenberg, and Yoel Sykes joined Rabbi Debra Newman Kamin, School of Jewish Studies Director Charlie Sherman, and Cantor Stuart Simon of Am Yisrael in Northfield prior to last year's Musical Shabbat.   (Jan Loew Photography)
