Four Wilmette Churches Join To Create Vacation Bible School

On August 11 – 14, four Wilmette churches join to create the summer vacation bible school (VBS) camp. VBS offers fun, games, crafts, songs and stories about happenings in the Bible.  It provides quality time for children and parents to grow in faith together and is a way for children and parents to get to know Christians in other local churches. The theme for VBS this year is “Welcome! Give and Receive God’s Great Love.”  VBS campers from age 3 through those entering 4th grade are invited to participate.  Volunteer leaders can be entering grade 5 through 99 years of age.  All are welcome. Participating churches are St. Augustine’s Episcopal, St. John’s Lutheran, Trinity United Methodist and First Presbyterian. The event will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1235 Wilmette Ave. from 4:15-6:15 pmfollowed by an optional catered supper for participants and their families. Registration cost is $20 for one child, with a family maximum of $40. Scholarships are available.   The family-friendly meal each night is $3 for children and $5 for adults. For more information about registration, call St. John’s at 847 251 1730.  To volunteer as a leader, contact Catherine Inserra;cath@trinitywilmette.org.  Or visit http://bit.ly/wilmettevbs for more information.
