Nicholas Barron Performs Live at the Rock House July 19.

(July 16, 13) – Chicago – based singer and songwriter Nicholas Barron will perform at the Wilmette Rock House July 19th at 7pm. The blues guitarist and American folk musician has been a fixture on the Chicago music scene for nearly three decades. He is currently the front man for three Chicago bands and also performs as the Nicholas Barron One-Man Soul Explosion. Barron’s artwork will also be on display at the rock-themed music school, coffee house and music venue.

Barron performed on the streets and in the subway stations of Chicago and founded C.A.S.A. (Coalition for the Advancement of Street Art) to help keep the city from banning performance street art and music. Barron has also lent his vocals to several different sports radio and TV commercials. He has opened for musicians such as B.B. King, Al Green, Johnny Cash, and the Neville Brothers.

Barron considers himself as much an artist as a musician. He uses oil pastels and oil paints on materials such as masonite (wood), canvas, and old rustic windows. His artwork possesses a primal energy, as he believes in creating without censoring himself. As a musician and writer Barron has learned to trust the creative process and see it as his connection “to something wider and deeper.”

The performance is free to the public with a $5 suggested donation. Nicholas Barron CD’s, visual art, t-shirts and other merchandise will also be available for purchase.
