  • Where: , 1242 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette
  • Why Go?: Alaka Wali, Curator at the Field Museum of Natural History,
    will discuss “Seekers of Refuge: The Amazon’s Hidden Peoples." Dr. Wali is the author of two books, several monographs, and over 30 articles, and she currently serves on the editorial board of the American Anthropologist, flagship journal of the American Anthropological Association.

  • When: Thursday, April 19, 2012, 6:00 pm
  • Where: , 9501 Skokie Blvd, Skokie
  • Why Go?: Adaptive Adventures, a Wilmette-based nonprofit, providing distinctive outdoor adventures to people with physical disabilities, will host the Chicago premiere of The Movement, narrated by Robert Redford and ski legend Warren Miller. The film screened at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2012 to critical acclaim.
