  • Why Go?: 'Current Events Roundtable' is the place to enjoy a cup of coffee whil discussing the leading national, international and local news of the day. The group, moderated by Deerfield resident Don Levinthal, covers all points on the political spectrum. Newcomers are always welcome.

REFUGE: Stories of the Selfhelp Home

  • When: Tuesday, December 4, 2012, 2:00 p.m.
  • Where: Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette
  • Why Go?: Rolf and Leni Weil, both long-time Wilmette residents will screen their documentary about the last generation of Holocaust survivors in Chicago and a small group of German-Jewish refugees who came together right before the war to begin Selfhelp. The film's director will be part of the discussion afterwards.

Harmonizers Sing Holiday Music Across the North Shore

  • When: Friday, December 7, 2012, 12:00 p.m.
  • Where: Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette
  • Why Go?: The North Shore Harmonizers, an independent women's a cappella chorus in the barbershop tradition, will present a special holiday concert at the Women in Business lunch, sponsored by the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce.
