Get Out: Shakespeare Plays, Oktoberfest and a Sing-a-Long

  • Why Go?: The Shakespeare Project of Chicago, celebrating its 10th season at the Wilmette Library, presents a double-bill of two popular education outreach productions, "50-Minute Romeo and Juliet" and "50-Minute Hamlet." Between the two plays, the audience will be treated to a wine and cheese reception.  Afterward, the actors will host a discussion.

  • Why Go?: The Annual Antiques Market features the best of Sandwich and Kane County. Family Festival Games for kids from 10a.m. to 3p.m. and food & drink will be served from 11:30a.m. to 3p.m.in the Biergarten Tent.

  • Why Go?: Members of the Wilmette Park District Center Fitness Club will be at the Library to help you get started on your own “Path to Fitness”. They will describe the various fitness options offered at the Center and how to set and meet your goals, whether working with a personal trainer or on your own.  Wear comfortable clothes as you will get a chance to try out the new fitness craze Zumba, with a short class led by the Center staff. Watchers welcome too!  Attendees will each receive a 1 week pass to the Center.

Wellness strategies are taught to participants who will leave ready to reduce the harmful effects that stress can have on your life, while restoring energy, proper sleep, health and wellness.

  • Why Go?: A German dinner will be served in the Beer Hall to the tunes of an Oom Pah band, followed by outdoor party with the band. Advance reservations are recommended.

  • When: Sunday, September 16, 2012, 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: 1168 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette
  • Why Go?: C J Arthur's welcomes Mark Dvorak and David Hawkins for a special night of original song. Both Artists will introduce songs from their new CDs.  Midwest Folk Troubadour Mark Dvorak continues to balance his time as a singer,songwriter, teacher and touring musician. Singer-Songwriter David Hawkins has found Chicago by way of Detroit, Tulsa and New Orleans, and he has picked up musical flavors wherever he has lived.
