  • Why Go?: The 6th annual St. Francis Xavier Summerfest bash is guaranteed to deliver a much-needed music and dance fix to folks from across the Northshore. People from all over Wilmette and surrounding suburbs have embraced this annual event as the ‘unofficial’ Chicago-style block party of the Northshore.  Summerfest continues to grow every year as word has spread and people look to the final weekend of August to send summer out with a bang.

  • Where: 1242 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette
  • Why Go?: Michael Krenn, a 26 year-old Viennese musician who has won several international competitions, will play a classical saxophone concert accompanied by pianist Yoko Yamada-Selvaggio.  Prior to his August 26th appearance at the Library, Krenn performed at the Chicago Cultural Center as part of the Dame Myra Hess classical music series that presents promising young artists. Krenn, who will be visiting from Austria, is a graduate of the conservatory of the University of Vienna. He has won international competitions in Poland and Thailand.
