Go Green Wilmette Parades, Provides Home Tour to Encourage Energy Efficiency
The organization won the community category in the holiday parade and will offer a green home tour in early December.
Go Green Wilmette is reaching out to the Wilmette community in many ways.

There were 24 Go Green Wilmette participants including members of the Central School Green Team. They biked, rollerbladed and walked. Thanks to the Robertson family, there was a bright orange Tesla with its KIKS GAS license plate, a Toyota Prius with a “REDUCE” license plate and a double-person pedal surrey festooned with signs.
Richard Huszagh wore the Plastic Bag Monster costume. There were banners, signs and even dogs in green t-shirts. Kudos to Margrit Kuehn for organizing this event, and to everyone who marched in it. Special thanks to John Robertson and daughters Carly and Jane.

Upcoming Event
An important event is coming up on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. Go Green Wilmette and our friends from Energy Impact Illinois, an energy efficiency advocacy group, are teaming up to talk about how homes use and waste energy. The goal is to motivate people to make changes that make a difference.
Mary from Energy Impact Illinois will take everyone on a tour a Go Green Wilmette member’s home to show what improvements will save the most money. (It will be very embarrassing if a lot of things not yet done to save energy are found!) The average household can easily reduced utility bills by 20 percent, and over time, that adds up to a lot, both for the planet and our wallets. The home on the tour already has solar thermal and photovoltaic systems on their roof.
Go Green Wilmette is trying to do whatever we can to help our community use less energy. Please help us address global warming and make Wilmette a greener place to live by coming to this gathering and then spreading the word. Feel free to bring a friend.
