Grab & Go Kids Planner: Free Movies, Boxing and Haiti Benefit

Patch has compiled some ideas on what to do with the kids this weekend.


  1. Where/When: Friday, March 25, 6:30 p.m. at, 2705 Techny Rd, Northbrook.
    Why Go: Join your friends for a family movie night, with free popcorn compliments of Sunset Foods!  This month's film is "Despicable Me".  Call 847 272 7250 or visit www.nsymca.org for more information.

  2. Where/When: Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at, 620 Lincoln Ave, Winnetka.
    Why Go: Listen to local talent and hang out with friends. All concession proceeds will go toward building libraries in Haiti.
    Pricing: $5.00

  3. Where/When: Friday, March 25, 6 p.m. at, 7655 W Dempster St, Niles.
    Why Go: Notre Dame students, matched by weight, age, and previous experience will engage in a three-round boxing exhibition. Each round lasts one minute and 45 Notre Dame students have been training since January. The Friday evening card will feature 11 bouts.
    Pricing: $6

  4. Where/When: Saturday March 26, 10:30 a.m. at, 1501 Ellinwood Ave.
    Why Go: Kids ages 4-8 and their grandparents share stories, refreshments, have their photos taken and work on a project to take home.
    Pricing: Free

  5. Where/When: Saturday, March 26 at 8:30 p.m.
    Why Go: Try turning the lights out for one hour in support of the Earth.
    Pricing: Free.
