Loyola Graduate's Floral Crowns Wow Fashionistas

Libby Schwab may have just graduated from Loyola Academy, but her floral crown designs are already wowing fashion tastemakers.

"They're great for fests, concerts, any kind of summer activity," Schwab explained of the crowns.

Schwab first saw the floral headpieces popping up on the fashion scene, and knew that she could create better options. She designed several pieces, and partnered up with Jennifer Davis - who recently graduated with a degree in business - to sell the headpieces at the Wilmette Summerfest. They also sold handmade candles by Davis, as well as bracelets, hats and scarves.

The floral crowns are also available to be made-to-order.

"We're called 'Hannazakari,'" David said. "It's the Japanese word for when flowers come to full bloom."

Schwab's crowns will soon be available at a couple boutiques in Logan Square and Wicker Park in Chicago.

Schwab will be attending Xavier University in the fall to study entrepreneurship and continue in the fashion industry.
