New Trier Partners with Program to Help Teens with Disabilities

JJ's List received a $20,000 grant from New Trier Township to start a pilot program at New Trier High School to help teens with disabilities learn workplace social skills, Wilmette Life reported.


JJ’s List, an Evanston-based disability awareness and training organization, has partnered with New Trier High School and New Trier Township to offer a pilot program that helps teens with disabilities learn how to become a successful member of the workforce, Wilmette Life reported.

The On-land/On-line Employment Readiness Skills Building Initiative for Students with Disabilities was developed with the help of a $20,000 grant from New Trier Township and started this school year to help high school students with disabilities learn workplace social skills such as using email, writing professional introduction letters and talking comfortably with others in the workplace, Wilmette Life reported.
