I just wanted to let you know about some very positive progress as a result of the Patch coverage of Sunset Village.
Patch readers contacted about the issues going on at . As a result, the receiver has started a very thorough, rapid process of removing old, abandoned and dilapidated homes.
They have started installing new equipment in place of the pump house once full of rodent feces and carcasses in an effort to . They have started installing streetlights and replacing defective hydrants.
We now have armed, private security patrolling our area. And they are providing extra garbage cans and free bungee straps to keep lids closed in an effort to reduce raccoon incursions. To that end, they have begun to trap cats and other animals. They are also making an effort to mow grass. They are paving the streets properly as well.
While they still owe us nearly $5000 in rental rebates, that has more to do with the judge (Kenelly) than the management. This is a night and day difference in the misery and trepidation we have endured for quite some time.
Thank you to Patch and its readers for taking a stand on our behalf. It is a very big deal for us and we have renewed hope for the future.
