VIDEO: Growth Spurts Officially Opens for Kids, Parents
More than just an indoor play place, Growth Spurts is offering kids the chance to grow and develop while parents can relax and connect with others.
After two months of construction, Growth Spurts opened up its child center to North Shore kids Wednesday.
Sisters Ellen Darnieder and Devin McCue hope their new company will be a place for kids to grow and develop while parents can relax and connect with others.
"Not only are the kids playing and developing relationships, but the parents are also doing life together," Darnieder said.

Darnieder and McCue got the word out about their company through the plethora of families they've come to know over the years. People also noticed the new company during construction.
"Walk-by foot traffic generated a lot of interest, which then spread the word," McCue said. "Lots of people walking by and kids with their faces pressed up against the glass as things started to take shape."

The storefront isn't completely finished as Darnieder and McCue still have some last-minute touch-ups to do with the cafe.
"I'm very confident in the space and I know kids will love being in it so I'm not surprised to see that they enjoyed themselves while they were here," Darnieder said.
