Video: How to Use the New Library BiblioCommons

Wilmette Public Library launched its new service Tuesday.

Perusing for books at the just got a lot more engaging. The library launched a new online catalog Tuesday that combines characteristics of Facebook and Google to spice up, as well as simplify your book hunt. Known as BiblioCommons, the program offers more ways for readers to share their opinions and keep track of their favorite finds. More than 20 libraries will be rolling out the system, including facilities in Winnetka and Evanston.

"It's allowing users to add content [and] to talk within the BiblioCommons community of readers and share ideas," Betty Giorgi, head of adult services, told Patch.
