WEEKLY VIDEO: From Combat to Coffee, Life Again As A Civilian

Winnetka sees a lot of Sean Scott. He's the manager of Caribou Coffee, where the town sips coffee, holds meetings and catches up. Scott, 27, is an veteran who served in Iraq from 2004-2005 and has also been stationed in Korea. Now, he's back on the North Shore where he was born, living a civilian life and spending as much time as he can with his 22-month-old son.

"He's fun. Fun and a terror sometimes," Scott said. "He gets me every day because he's just like Curious George. He wants to figure everything out, and that just makes me smile."

From his days as a combat engineer near Fallujah and Ramadi to the corner of Chestnut and Elm, Scott has transitioned into a civilian life.

"I enjoy trying to make our mission which is make someone's day better as well as making this the community place that I love," he said.
