"A Woman's Path" --Annoyance Theatre in Residence at Wilmette Theatre

Annoyance Theatre in Residence: A WOMAN’S PATH Retreat Yourself "charmingly weird characters…a good number of laughs." —Julia Thiel, Chicago Reader Where do you go when you've lost yourself? Spend your a weekend at A Woman's Path, a women's retreat deep in southern Michigan wilderness. The cast takes the audience on a healing journey through share circles, trust falls, gentle lesbian undertones, bear fights, floral blazers, mountains of crumpled Kleenex, gallons of white wine and overall feminine anarchy. But not all of the retreaters are eager to oblige. Meet the Retreaters: The nearly bankrupt retreat is run by repressed lesbian Iris McGovern, who uses canine-style clicker training to encourage participants to share their feelings. Dark, brooding, and handless, Trista Falls is only there because of a court order. Compulsive liar Pamela Grunt just wants attention. And bird enthusiast/hoarder Myna Pips would prefer that no one touch her. Meanwhile, Sylvia Goldberg gets drunk and talks endlessly about her five kids, and Sheila Cankleton (played by tall, muscular John Loos, who also wrote the script) declares her love of making Christmas dolls.  Tickets $15 21+, Beer and Wine will be sold
