Comedy at the Mette presents Paul Thomas Sat. June 9th 9pm

COMEDY AT THE METTEIN ASSOCIATION WITH CHICAGO UNDERGROUND COMEDYPRESENTS PAUL THOMAS A critically acclaimed monthly stand-up comedy series on the second Saturday of each month featuring full length headlining and feature sets from the absolute best comics in Chicago, a Chicago Tribune Best Bet and Time Out Chicago Magazine Critics' Pick. For these shows the Wilmette Theatre has partnered with Chicago Underground Comedy, which the Chicago Tribune called "one of the hottest shows in town" and Chicago Magazine raved, "the hippest, hottest stand-up showcase to emerge in years." We are thrilled to present ChUC's top local comedians in headlining shows on our stage every month!
Your Headliner for this month is the hilarious Paul Thomas!  Paul Thomas was named one of Comedy.com's Top 20 Stand-ups in Chicago in 2009.  A character writing and performing addict, he recently brought his solo sketch show Comedogenic to Sketchfest NYC after a run of the show at The Pub Theater in Chicago, as well as at iO Theater Chicago and the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival.  He has performed solo sketches in the Just for Laughs Chicago "Alone" showcase. His solo work includes the autobiographical questionable love story Waitress Wanted, which was a selection in Live Bait Theater's Fillet of Solo Festival in 2006. In 2007 he brought his first character show Late Bloomer to The Playground Theater in Chicago and the Piccolo Fringe Festival in Charleston, S.C. He is a former member of the Defiant Thomas Brothers, winners of Best Sketch Group at HBO's 2005 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. Paul is also a filmmaker. Some of his work has screened at the Just for Laughs Festivals in Montreal and Chicago, the L.A. Comedy Shorts Festival, and the Midwest Independent Film Festival, amongst others. On the music front, Paul, Jeff Madden, and Cork Kangas comprise Lola Balatro, the post-grunge acoustic com-rock band that is scorching the earth with hits like "I Got 2 Black Friends" and "Questionable Beef."
