Gasland Screening and Discussion- 1 pm and 7 pm
Natural gas has become an increasingly important source of energy, especially after environmental protection restrictions were lifted against hydraulic fracturing drilling ("fracking"). However fracking taints water sources near drilling sites, and many households have discovered their water is not only undrinkable after drilling, it's even flammable. In this documentary the filmmaker travels to 34 states and talks to dozens of property owners and environmental experts on this under-reported menace.
Go Green Wilmette will lead the discussion.
