PLAZA DEL LAGO APPRAISING TREASURES UNEARTHED BY RESIDENTS TO HELP THE MAKE-A-WISH® FOUNDATION OF ILLINOIS

Are you curious as to the worth of family heirlooms and other objects gathered over the years?  Appraisers Daniel Buck Soules and Simeon Lipman, will help residents determine the going price of their treasures while at the same time raising money and awareness for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.  Plaza del Lago’s 8th Annual North Shore Treasures: Collectibles and Antique Appraisals provide the chance to unearth the value and history of antiques, collections and flea market finds:  heirlooms passed down through generations and garage sale purchases no longer need to collect dust.  Bring these treasures to Plaza del Lago to gain knowledge straight from the experts.  This year’s event is set for Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mr. Soules has appeared for 11 years as an independent appraiser in Decorative Arts and Collectibles.  Mr. Lipman has also appeared as in independent appraiser in Sports Memorabilia and Pop Culture.    During the event, Mr. Soules will appraise paintings, decorative arts, furniture, silver and porcelain, while Mr. Lipman will focus on Pop Culture memorabilia which would consist of sports, film, comic art and music (rock, jazz) items.

Plaza del Lago suggests a $10 donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois for each item appraised, with a limit of five items per person.  The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy. In the last 25 years, the Foundation has granted more than 10,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish® with special children across Illinois.
