GLENVIEW, IL (February 2012) – The Laughing Chameleon, the North Suburb’s only full-service comedy, magic and variety club, opened to sold-out shows and rave reviews New Year’s Eve week. Now, this one-of-a-kind, all-in-one entertainment hot spot is expanding its services with a Funny Monday Comedy Showcase, Sketch/Improv Comedy Tuesdays, private party accommodations, and an all-star lineup of comedians, magicians and musicians from around the world.

This week, Tuesday only, The Help, sketch duo, will bring their own brand of funny to the “burbs”. The entertainment continues, Wednesday through Saturday with the amazing and mystifying magic of Joel Ward from Los Angeles, CA, who will please and puzzle the audience. The week of February 28 through March 3 will feature a wonderful variety of local sketch comedy groups and stand up comedians including Lola Balatro, a modern day Spinal Tap featuring brilliant comedy weaved together with true musical talent, the Puterbaugh Sisters, weaving sketch stand up and their own unique brand of storytelling into a night of laughter, The Help, one of Chicago’s finest sketch duos, The Famous Brothers, honky-tonk Hootenaany musical sketch, Jonathan Fin, stand up, back by popular demand, bringing his own genius brand of LYAO comedy and Ben Bergman, Lisa Laureta, & Dave Odd, hilarious stand ups. Showtime is 8pm Tuesday to Saturday, with doors opening to the public for pre-show food and drinks at 6:30. Tickets are available at www.TheLaughingChameleon.com and at the box office at 6:30pm. The fun and laughs don’t stop there! The Laughing Chameleon’s “Funny Monday Showcase” is now underway and opened to a successful first night on January 2. Every Monday at 8:30pm for a $5 cover charge, any and all attendees can take the stage in an Open Mic Night, with the funniest amateur stand-up of the night taking home all cover charge profits from that evening! The Laughing Chameleon is changing it up because “Anything (Almost) Goes” in this comedy showcase. Talents ranging from comedy, music and improvisation to magic and illusion are all welcome here. The Laughing Chameleon is proud to announce that it will be available for private parties and meetings on Sundays and other times throughout the week, aside from show times. With a prime location in The Glen, the Laughing Chameleon’s unique atmosphere and brand new facility is the ideal location for any event, whether it’s corporate gatherings, birthdays or bachelor and bachelorette parties. The Club’s glossy décor, full-service bar and small plate restaurant service are all sure to impress! Group sales packages are also available for regular show performances. These include discounts and reserved seating as well as special food and drink packages.

The Laughing Chameleon offers a full bar with specially designed cocktails, small plate restaurant service (provided by the adjacent Flight Restaurant & Wine Bar), and top quality entertainment - all in the heart of Chicago’s North Suburbs. Some of the menu items, priced between $5 and $10, include: sliders, tacos, empanadas, Tuscan fries, beet salad, flatbreads, hummus platter, and desserts.

ABOUT THE LAUGHING CHAMELEON
David and Dania Maas, well known for their “Quick Change” act, and business partners, Gary and Renee Walter, founded the Laughing Chameleon. Located in The Glen Town Center, it is the North Shore’s prime destination for evening fun, food and entertainment. Offering the area’s only high caliber variety entertainment, comedy, illusionists and much more, The Laughing Chameleon features full bar and small plate restaurant service (provided most nights by the adjacent Flight Restaurant & Wine Bar), as well as accommodations for up to 65 for private events and parties.
The Laughing Chameleon opened in December 2011. It will be open Monday through Friday, 6:30pm to 1:00am, and Saturdays from 6:30pm to 2:00am. Sundays will be available for private events. Shows will be at 8pm from Tuesday-Saturday. Funny Monday Comedy Showcase will be at 8:30pm every Monday. General admission tickets will be priced at $10 and up. Although we love all ages, The Laughing Chameleon is a 21 and up entertainment venue. Proof of ID is required. On show nights, there is a two-drink minimum per person. If the minimum is not met, a $6 per drink service charge is added to the bill. Tickets and two-drink minimum are subject to 4% Glenview Entertainment Tax. Annual memberships are also available.
