  1. Where/When: Wilmette Public Library, Friday, March 4 at 11:45 p.m.
    Why Go: Join businesswomen from the Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glencoe and Northfield Chambers of Commerce at this monthly event at the Wilmette Library. The Executive Director of JJ's List, provides a guide for "person-first language" when engaging someone with a disability.

  2. Where/When: Winnetka Community House, Friday, March 4 at 7 p.m.
    Why Go: Big reds and buttery whites that won't break the bank! Come sample vintages from around the world that will be both easy on your palette and more importantly on your pocketbook. Enjoy the savings offered on superb wines by co-sponsoring vendor, the International House of Wine and Cheese. Delicious pairings of savory appetizers will be served. All wines will be available for purchase with case discounts and free delivery.

  3. Where/When: Wilmette Public Library, Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
    Why Go: Wilmette resident Bob Karr, a recognized expert on Frank Lloyd Wright and Japan, will explore Wright's extraordinary relationship with Japan on March 5 in the auditorium. Mr. Karr will present historic photographs and images, as well his own photographs, of the places Wright encountered during his numerous trips to Japan between 1905 and 1922, places that inspired the renowned architect's style. Karr has studied and worked extensively in Japan and served on the board of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust.

  4. Where/When: Mitchell Museum of the American Indian
    Why Go: Laura McDowell, assistant curator of collections at the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian in Evanston, will lead a tour of the Mitchell's permanent galleries at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. The event will survey Native American art forms across North America --  and the forces that have shaped them.
    Pricing: $5, $2.50, free for Mitchell Museum members and tribal members

  5. Where/When: North Shore Country Club, Sunday, March 6 at 2 p.m.
    Why Go: The Northwestern Graduate Students Curling Club provides a lesson followed by play time, appetizers and warm wine punch.
    Pricing: $30-$55
  6. Janus Trio Features Flute, Viola and Harp
    Where/When: Wilmette Public Library, Sunday March 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: Time Out New York qualifies the brooklyn-based trio, which has graced such venues as Symphony Space, Weill Recial Hall and the Kennedy Center's Millenium Stage, as "gorgeously subtle." Meanwhile come show some local love for harpist Nuiko Wadden, who hails from Wilmette.
