    Why Go: It’s nature. It’s the weekend. There aren’t any computers or wire outlets.

  2. Where/When: Harms Woods at 5600 Old Orchard Rd. in Skokie on May 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Why Go: It’s charitable, athletic and supports American Cancer Society.
    Pricing: Dependent on fundraising.
  3. Rain Garden 101 Program
    Where/When: Wilmette Public Library, Saturday May 14, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: Learn how to make a rain garden and learn about the environmental benefits of these projects. See how the Village of Wilmette will be using the system.
    Price: Free
  4. Architectural House Tour
    Where/When: Throughout Wilmette, starting at the Historical Museum,  609 Ridge Road, May 15 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
    Why Go: Explore four outstanding homes designed by recognized architects between 1890 and 1950.

  5. 35th Annual Spring Ice Show: Opposites Attract
    Where/When: Centennial Ice Rink 2300 Old Glenview Road
    Why Go: Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, May 14, at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 15, at 2:30 p.m.
