Wilmette Library Builds Up eBook Collection

Amazon Kindle users now have access to a trove of reading material at their fingertip.

 has added another way for residents to access material as its eBook collection is now compatible with the Amazon Kindle.

Wilmette and Kenilworth residents with a library card can download popular and classic eBooks to a Kindle device or any mobile device running the free Kindle application, such as the iPhone, iPad and Android. To get started, they should visit www.mymediamall.net.

The library also offers eBooks and audiobooks for use on computers and popular mobile devices such as smartphones, MP3 players and other eBook readers such as the Barnes & Noble's Nook and the Sony Reader.

Kindle users can browse the library's collection to search for titles and by using a library card, select “Get for Kindle” to deliver the material to their eBooks device. Amazon’s Whispersync technology will synchronizes notes, highlights and last page read between Kindle and free Kindle apps.

The library is anticipating a high demand for eBooks, so patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the Always Available eBooks that have no need for holds. The library plans to build its eBook collection with more titles in the future.
