Developers are encouraged to create an app that will help people “find, create, sustain or share vibrant public places,” according to an MPC press release.

The app will also utilize and add onto data already compiled by the group Apps 4 Chicago Metro Illinois.

Participants must follow certain guidelines in order to be considered for the contest as well, which can be found at the Placemaking Chicago website.
