Fresh Market and its wine distributors absorb most of the costs of the event, keeping admission prices low while sending most of the proceeds directly to charity, according to Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club President Rob Davis.

“With great support from Fresh Market, we take the proceeds of a fabulous evening out in Wilmette to give a much-needed boost to organizations that help needy children and families,” Davis said.

“Now, in our fourth year, this wine gala has become established as a must-attend evening in the North Shore,” Davis said. “Once again, we expect to sell out our 300 tickets for the gala.”

The Fresh Market will close early to the general public on the evening of the event and then re-open for the gala. The gourmet grocer will offer samples of more than 40 varieties of wine paired with mouth-watering hors d'oeuvres, said Jawor, event committee chairman. Attendees receive a discount of up to 15 percent on wine purchases made that night, he said.

To add to the fun of the evening, the Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club will also offer a silent auction with a chance to bid on exciting travel and entertaining opportunities including a week's stay in a lovely Seabrook Island, South Carolina vacation getaway.
