Meet Mary Elisco, Patch’s New Advertising Manager

Patch is excited to welcome Mary Elisco to its team in the north suburbs, where she'll serve local clients as advertising manager in Evanston, Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Niles-Morton Grove, Skokie and Wilmette.

Prior to joining Patch in summer 2012, Mary Elisco spent five years working for Yellowbook, where she sold online and print direcotry advertising, SEO/SEM, websites, video, direct mail and other related products, primarily in McHenry County, Lake County and the Arlington Heights/Barrington.

As an advertising manager, what's the best part of your job?

Meeting people and learning about their business.  I like to take a consultative approach, discuss their current advertising methods, offer suggestions such as how to improve their website, identify their goals and make recommendations on how to make their business more visible through Patch products.  My goal is to bring buyers and sellers together or, as I say when working with restaurants, "I fill your empty tables."

What do you think makes Patch special?

Real-time news and information and community sharing that's local to (your) town. I enjoy getting the breaking news stories through our newsletters.  Since I've been reading Patch I'm hooked!  I've learned more about my community than I have since living here for 15 years.  I enjoy telling people I work for Patch and hearing them say that they've already been reading Patch and know all about us.  Love that!

What do you like to do in your free time? 

I love to dance.  Spend time with family and friends, especially my new 3-month old grandson.  Enjoy motorcycle riding (as a passenger, mind you).
